Caparison introduce the JSM – the long awaited signature model of Joel Stroetzel, of Killswitch Engage. The headstock design of the JSM is the same as an Caparison Angelus but the neck has the profile of a TAT model. Through-body stringing has been incorporated to cope with down tuning and heavier gauge strings. The tailpiece has also been very finely adjusted for the tension of each individual string and the bridge pickup position has also been adjusted to produce a richer sound. Hipshot locking tuners and a Graph Tech Black TUSQ nut are included for their tuning stability in harsh stage environments.

For 2012 Caparison have introduced the M3 body construction to the Horus model. A choice of Maple or Ebony can now be specified for the fingerboard material and the neck and headstock now feature binding. The Horus is unique in design, featuring 27 frets but with a standard scale length, thus removing the need for the player to adjust their technique. To ensure the higher frets are accessible the Horus features a compact body design and deep cutaway. The Sponge finish is applied by hand so each production model is visually unique.

Caparison have taken the original design and improved the tonal characteristics by introducing different body constructions. For 2012, The Caparison Dellinger II-M3 is now available with either a Maple or Ebony fingerboard. In addition, two new sponge colour finishes (SnowStorm and BlackRose) are available, this custom finish is applied by hand so each production model is visually unique.

When researching a new body construction for the evolution of the Caparison Angelus-HGS (Heavy Gauge Strings) our main goal was to add a rich sustain characteristic to the low tone and heavy sound of the existing model. After experimenting with different concepts we determined that ‘M3B Construction’ was the answer. Unlike the Angelus-HGS the bridge and bridge pickup position has not been modified specifically for heavy gauge string use / alternative tuning. Despite this, the Angelus-M3B can still accommodate heavy gauge strings / alternative tuning, making it more accessible for the versatile player.
